The Infinite Chord Guru is infinite because it provides opportunity to construct infinite Chord Sequences on the Piano or Synthesizer. Unlike many Chord Charts this CD-ROM is different because it introduces the concept of Scales parenting Chords. A C(Maj) parented by a C(Ionian) Scale is different than a C(Maj) parented by a G(Ionian) Scale. It is a difference of context due to the position of the Chord within the parent Scale.
The first mistake most beginning students make.
Most beginners try to memorize the visual representation of each Chord. They try to memorize the literal Chord Chart.
Instead, the student should use the Chord Chart once to learn how to place the fingers and then work to memorize the feel of the fingers to learn the Shape of the Chord. The feeling of the Shape of the Chord in the fingers is more important than the visual diagram of a Chord. If successful, the student will be able to navigate the keyboard with eyes shut as the fingers lead the way.
